Okay, it's not that pads are no good. They certainly feel less intrusive. BUT they are seriously uncomfortable especially if you're wearing those old, loose, and yeah rather unattractive panties. Because you feel as though they keep FLOPPING AROUND. It's so insecure the feeling, and there's already tons of insecurity floating around when a woman's having a period, without having the pad flop around. So. There's a clear alternative here.
TAMPONS!
I've to of course admit that I had my doubts some time ago. But I did some research and it has convinced me that it can't be that bad after all. But all the while, I had the inertia to actually go out (or ask mummy dearest) to buy a pack for me to try. Until KOTEX decided to go on their recent hip campaign with their designed pads and colourful, slim tampons.
Received one gift pack while mugging and waiting for boyf in SMU. It came in a pretty pink pack with some pretty brochures and a pack of some day use winged, slim pads, and a box of eight regular, slim TAMPONS! They really looked quite pretty and came in different colours (though the tampons themselves are all solidly white, nothing fancy there) so they definitely have the youth appeal. The instructions on the brochure were clear and in fact, I found them inviting.

Okay, I know. What a weird word to use. But I've been wanting to try... so...
One fine day, yz was mugging over at my house. She was having her menses that day and asked for a pad to change. I refused. Because I wanted her to try my new tampons HAHAHA. Yz being yz, was the perfect guinea pig because she is SOOOOO easy going. Seriously. I should feel bad for bullying her into stuff sometimes x: I really should. hehehe.
Anyways, she very willingly obliged and went to the bathroom. After just minutes... she came into my room again and gave a rather unusual exclamation that went along the lines of:
Yz: "Zp, I don't think I inserted it correctly leh." o.o
Me: "Huh, why????" :O
Yz: "BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE NOTHING." O.O
Me: OOOOO.OOOOOOOOOO
AWESOME. That was all I needed to know. So the very next cycle here, I TRIED THIS OUT. Woohooo!! :D It's pretty awesome. It isn't exactly NOTHING. But it's definitely comfortable and... well awesome! :D I feel freee LOLL. I just have to make sure that my cramps don't bother me this cycle ): then it would be a perfect menstruation... well, as perfect as it could possibly be anyways, without having to hit pregnancy/menopause [[[[[:
WOOHOO!
But pads still have to come into play at night... because pads can't stay inside for more than 3 or 4 hours or bacteria infections or TSS or something may happen inside that fragile place. Which is partially why I didn't take a picture of the tampon before going to bathe first. Because I didn't want to touch the tampon too much (you aren't supposed to touch it for more than it's necessary to put it in anyways) and contaminate it D: so the picture above shows just the shell of it.
WHICH IS PRETTY RIGHT :D it's red. The pink one looks more like a nude colour. Haha. THERE'S A LIME GREEN PACKAGED ONE :D it looks pretty. I think I'll save that for the last :D I only have 5 left now... cuz I gave yz another one for her to change and I used one just now D:
Going to SMU tomorrow. Maybe they'll give more samples LOLL nah joking. TIME TO GET SOMEEEE!
